Hospice Billing Analyst

SUMMARY
Support the Hospice Billing Team Lead and Hospice Billing Manager to ensure timely and correct claims are filed with all respective payers and intermediaries for Hospice patients. Monitor claims for timely processing of payments and rejections and work on Accounts Receivable (A/R) weekly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
- Bill for Medicare/Medicaid/Blue Cross and other commercial payors under Hospice guidelines
- Review RTP claim errors, submit adjustment/correction claims, work 3rd-party rejections, and follow up on status of outstanding claims under Hospice guidelines
- Bill commercial claims through Waystar and/or all other commercial payor portals
- Ensure that NOE/NOTRs are filed on time for Medicare claims
- Review Medicare claims in eSolutions & FISS/DDE for payment dates
- Review ineligible & eligible billing reports and correct any issues prior to processing claims
- Review A/R balances and ensure outstanding balances are being addressed
- Review Medicare and 3rd-party aging reports and work claims daily
- Update billing notes and follow up as required
- Review all payor remits filed in OneDrive by Accounts Payable
- Prepare and submit write-off/bad debt documentation to Hospice Billing Manager by monthly deadline for Revenue Cycle
- Fax/Enter Medicaid Hospice enrollments/documentation as required by each individual state
- Complete and submit HPF form to SNF within24 hours of admission
- Cover department when another team member is ill or on vacation

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

- Associate degree or equivalent education and work experience required
- Minimum of two (2) years of billing experience in the Hospice or Home Health industry
- Medicare FISS (Fiscal Intermediary Standard System)/DDE (Direct Data Entry) and CHAMPS experience required
- Extensive experience using clinical billing software and electronic claims submission
- Knowledge of Hospice Medicare/Medicaid compliance
- Strong computer knowledge
- Experience navigating a computer network
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience using web-DENIS
- Experience using commercial billing software/websites
- Proficiency in Medicare FISS/DDE system
- Demonstrate patience, flexibility, and cooperative attitude
- Conscientious with attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, verbal and written

Must have and maintain in good standing professional license, certificate, or registration, as applicable.
